Spring Time in the Vineyard

Château Haut-Brion is located in Passac, France and is walking distance from where we live. We passed it on our long walks so I was able to watch the vineyard through out the year.

When walking from Alquette to Pessac Center in France I would pass by Château Pape Clément. Behind the vineyard is a cluster of houses that have always intrigued me. I have taken many photos of it but this one day, with the leaves just coming out on the vines and the sun hitting the buildings just right, I was able to capture something more dynamic to the ancient flavor of the scenery.

Grape 5332 Watercolor effect

I really love the plumpness of these grapes from Catalonia, Spain. They also tasted really good, not tanic.

Michelangelo's Bacchus, 1497

Michelangelo’s Bacchus (1496-1497) Michelangelo was 21 years old when commissioned by Cardinal Raffacle Rianrio to do this statue of Bacchus. He didn’t care for the drunkenness of Bacchus though and sold it to a banker, Jacopo Galli where it was placed in his garden. Later it was displayed in the Uffizi until about 1591. It now can be seen in the Palazzo del Bargello, Florence, Italy. The grapes are from the Empordàlia winery in Catalonia, Spain.
